Mit Herbert geht es langsam bergauf

Noch nichts neues sieht aber alles andere als gut aus.

Hang on Herbie!! After being in an induced coma for the past 3 weeks or so, it's now time for Prayers! My good friend Herbert Schmitz suffered a stroke and could use everyone's prayers at this critical time. Herbert and I hooked up at the Maico Factory in 1976 during one of my yearly visits to the factory and he took me with him to the Dutch 500cc GP that year. Hooking up again and was his mechanic for the 1977 USGP and working the 2nd half of TRANS-AM for him and helped get all the bugs worked out of the new Magnum Motor. He was the one that encouraged me and recommend to the Maico Factory to bring over for the 1978 season. German Championship, Internationals and Grand Prix Season. It was a great year for both of us .... winning MANY International races, winning his 1st German Championship with 2 races still to be raced .. beating my other good friend Adlof Weil as well as winning a few GP races that year and finishing up 4th in the world! We got a lot of peoples and other factories attention that year. We have hooked up in the states numerous times over the past 1/2 dozens years or so and want to hook up with him again soon and talk about all the good times we had!
